Estrostep is a combination birth control pill containing two hormones, norethindrone acetate and ethinyl estradiol, given in a graduated dose pattern over 21 days. Estrostep Fe also includes seven brown iron tablets with no hormones, used only to help keep the daily pill-taking habit going during the 28-day pack. It is used to prevent pregnancy and, in some women, to treat moderate acne.
