Pneumococcal vaccines protect against infections caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae bacteria (pneumococcus). There are pneumococcal conjugate vaccines (PCVs, such as PCV13, PCV15, PCV20, PCV21) and a pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine (PPSV23/PPV).
