Spiriva is a long-acting prescription inhaler medicine that helps keep the airways in the lungs open. It comes in two devices: the HandiHaler, which uses a dry-powder capsule, and the Respimat, which sprays a fine mist. It is not a rescue inhaler and will not treat a sudden breathing attack.
