Truvada is a tablet that combines two antiviral medicines, emtricitabine and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate. It is used together with other HIV medicines to treat HIV-1 infection, and it can also be used on its own to help prevent HIV-1 infection in people at high risk (called PrEP).
